Hi anyone on here got a viper exhaust?
the '00 curvy i bought has a viper exhaust (well end can and link pipe at least) am worried its too loud for mots etc and well the neighbours are not chuffed when i leave for work early sunday mornings lol. had a look over it and well only mark i can see is the name viper its an oval section pipe. am i right in thinking if thers no e mark its not legal? or where should i be looking for any road legal markings on a viper can its on a 2000 carb model curvy s. I been told to try a bd killer or see if it has removable baffles had a look and it looks straight thru to me ie no baffles fitted so could i just buy viper baffles and fit them or any db killer type thing? most of these ays you need to drill a hole in the pipe well this can has a hole in it already but not at the bottom as i have seen with all other db killers but on the side of the can outlet nearest the bike ie inboard rather than outer face. does this sound like a removable baffle hole or something completely different even if i fit a db killer or baffle would i still need to chage the can to keep it legal? cheers |

Ive had a viper can on one of my old bikes and alot of my friends have had em/have em.
they dont have and E markings on them so technically they are road legal. Yes they are a bit loud, i lent my mate one for a MOT and he got an advisory. If you want to make one quiet then get the DB reducer not the baffle. also no matter what aftermarket can ya put on a twin they will all be LOUD! |

after market cans are now down to the mot'rs discretion as long as it HASN'T GOT "not for road use" stamped on it.

I've got a viper can on my 2000 curvy. It is loud, but have fitted one of these
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DB-KILLER-BAFF...d=p3286.c0.m14 Great service, really makes a difference and only takes 5-10 minutes to fit. ![]() Oh and iI've stubbied my can as well. With the db killer in it passed it's MOT no problem. That was at the stealers too ![]() |

I have a 390mm viper oval can, which has no markings and no baffle and it passed its MOT fine, but as said it is MOT'ers desgression, if in doubt ask the MOT station before you book your bike in what they think
