Claim against the gutless swine. And hope old bill does them up the bourneville boulevard with something pointy (lol) for leaving the scene of the accident.

Report it to the law, I believe they have 7 days to come in and report it.

notifying your insurance of the incident does not count as a claim, you can tell them about an accident then not claim, and if the police find the guy and you have witness statements then you give all thr details to your insurer and all fixed.

Right,

You've all seen the damage, been to get a quote today from my local bike shop.

I'm starting a quick pole on how much it would cost to repair. So have a guess. All the parts are genuine suzuki and a touch in on the rear paintwork .

Let the games begin!

I'd say Chris is closer... Bikes aren't cheap to repair - seeing as it's pretty new the idiot who drove off will get a massive bill but it's unlikely to write off the bike

Take him to cleaners, people who cause accidents and then bugger off are scum and need a massive wake up call...

You guys arn't too far off. I was amazed they quoted £450, all in. If the driver has stopped and said I don't really want to go through insuarnce here's £50, I'd have been happy but my good I'd have been well out of pocket! I suppose a scratch is as good as it being totally broken and that will be the most it would cost because they are genuine parts and brand new.

Anyway I've reported to the police and insurnace company. The keeper is from Essex so I guess if he says I've never been to Louth in my life and don't knoow where it is, wasn't me gov I'll be a bit screwed. Gonna check council CCTV and shop CCTV to see if it is of any use.

Thanks guys, I'll keep you posted!

You have a witness who gave you the reg and presumably a description of the vehicle...

He wouldn't "just go" to lincolnshire from Essex, he will have to explain where he was if he wants to deny being there, but that will be impossible because he was there...

My betting would be once you start threatening court action he'll fold and admit liability, if he has any sense...
