cat and fiddle is a brilliant road, but as you say theres plenty of coppers around. Your best off going on a week day, not seen many coppers on it then. Park up at the pub, and ask other bikers there if theres any police on it. then do a steady run to make sure for yourself. after that, make your own rules!

well i've ticked it off my to-do list. did it first thing this morn. very quiet except for a few bikes, that i waved on, and 1 police car but i expect there will be more patrolling later. good time to make my maiden voyage, me thinks.

Bloody good road, you were lucky with the coppers gene; especially on a sunny sunday, you must have been there at the crack of dawn! there's a bit of it on the peaks rideout video and you can just about spot a sneaky couple of grey tripod cameras set up.

Was up the C+F on saturday morning and got an absolutely silent run up there. Didn't have to overtake anything the whole way up. It was awesome

very sensible - i am the same when out riding, never try to keep up with the faster/better riders. don't see the point in going too fast if i'm not too confident on a road.

Great little road! Although because apparently it's 'the most dangerous road in Britain' the police have a 0% tolerance policy for road users - which is actually enforced from my experience. Also watch out for the sheep, they tend to wonder onto the road

it is a great road thats for sure but is now spoilt by the cops, i only live about 15-20 mins away from it and do most of my riding round derbyshire, there is still plenty of roads around with no police presence, but all the major roads have police patroling them especially weekends/sunny days so it's not worth riding them to quickly..

Anybody tried the Hardknott pass in Cumbria? Very scary piece of road. Gotta be done once though.
