Or as now Orange and Vodafone are starting to offer the iPhone maybe try see what they say???

As much as I like my iphone. I'm f*cked if I would pay £440 for one...
Dont forget Orange and Vodaphone do the Iphone now, so you might find a better deal with them. Personally I'd tell him that he has to wait for his contract to run out, thats alot of money to shell out...
