That's seriously throwing money away. Get an Ipod touch. If not:

Not seeing the issue here...means you don't need to get him one then!

Either way you're losing/spending a fair bit of money due to impatience. The next big "phone to have" will no doubt be out in a years time. That's the thing with fixed term phone contracts, you can never keep up so there really is little point trying.

Have you thought about selling the phone first and then with the money, buy another!

There is no "probably" about it.
You sign up for 12/18 or even 24 months now and by signing, you are agreeing to pay a minimum amount to them in rental.

Just buy him a 3310 and tell him it should be sufficient.

As much as I like my iphone. I'm f*cked if I would pay £440 for one...

Dont forget Orange and Vodaphone do the Iphone now, so you might find a better deal with them.

Personally I'd tell him that he has to wait for his contract to run out, thats alot of money to shell out...

For some reason all prices are the same across all 3 networks my Dad just got an iPhone on orange and before he got it he compared both o2 and orange on pay as you go and contract and there wasnt any difference in price at all
