The pickups currently in the Tele are described as "hot", which I tend to agree with, though jeeeez are they noisey!!! More research needed, me thinks. Or maybe I could find a model that sports a set as standard and give it a demo?!? Yep, more research required.

Good hearing you're getting along with your set!!!
Maybe pop into a shop and ask if you've got a decent bunch you can talk to nearby (attitude in guitar shops generally varies- Charlie Chandler and co are great- helpful and friendly with loads of top level experience).

Picked my strat up yesterday- well happy with it. The frets are like new- it plays like new and the action is noticeably lower than before. The Plek machine is a revolution for guitar setup! Will shove a mic in front of it later in the week.

Charlie also gave me a tip on how to improve my recent wiring efforts on the Black Beauty- will get on with that in the near future, but not relishing the idea of setting to it with a soldering iron again!!

BTW- nice guitars gents. Wideboy- why did you sell those other guitars?!!!

I must say- I'd have to be in serious (Dire?!) straits to consider selling a guitar now.

You could look on the websites perhaps- they should list dealers (or the importer, who will list dealers).

ESP seem fairly geared up for custom work- I'd love a custom Horizon 7 string with a Floyd Rose in it. Drool etc.

I have a beautiful acoustic Tanglewood. My 2nd most prized possession.

i hardly played them , i always and still do prefer the squire for some reason , i find it easy to play than any others

thought it was a bit of a waste to just have them on the wall, hopefully the bloke i sold them to has put them to good use

That's fair enough then. I couldn't imagine getting rid of any of my axes now. I love them all that much. And one by one, they will all become as good as they can be again!

The Strat is totally sorted now- except the neck tone's still wired backwards. It works though- I might get a kn0b made with tone written backwards- just to make a feature of it!!

something that's been pondering me for a while now. A few years back i stuck a chisels through my left hand....... more than once and as a result i have bad dexterity (really im just **** but this way i sound cooler ), i struggle to stretch from fret to fret and allocation of my fingers on frets, i nudge and lightly tap other strings, not much but enough to be herd. Is there anything i can do to the guitar or buy anything to reduce this being picked up?

On classical guitars, strings are further apart on the action (distance from fretboard) is larger than on western guitars, so there will be less accidentally touching of strings/stings onto frets.

But with this changes the style in which you might play..

I don't know if you're a beginner or not, but when I first started I had the same thing, and lost it, along with other dexterous problems, with lots of practice.
