You could ask your line manager to try and personally see it through the HR department rather than letting it get forgotten.

I'll have an "off the record" conversation with him and then ask him what he thinks the best way to play it is. I dont want to cause a fuss I just want it to stop and be left alone and for no more repeats of the behaviour that happened today.

Just let him know that is affecting your performance as well, as a manager money should always be a big thing on his mind and it'll spur him into action

I object to being called a "waster" and the implication that I dont do any work. Which is basically what was said in front of me this morning and then carried on behind my back whilst I went and had a shower.

Also the people that are doing it are extremely two faced and will just deny they said it if we get into an office with the HR manager.

Fizz - in my Company there is a policy about bad mouthing colleagues something about equality and diversity and if we get caught doing it then theres trouble but it has to be proved of course.

If your line manager can be trusted... then i would speak to them not necessarily to make a complaint but maybe to get it off your chest, then he/she is aware of what is going maybe then he/she will see it for themselves at some point

if that makes sense

if that doesn't work complain like hell - and you know what else I would do i would keep a diary of dates, time who and what, seriously
