Just found this. Quite interesting, I wonder what the new transport policy will be.

Conservative
The Conservatives have as part of their transport policy ‘A Fair Deal for Motorcyclists’, however I haven’t been able to find this document anywhere, (there are many links on the net from when it was ‘unearthed’ in 2009 but they are all broken). Quotes taken from it include:
"The Conservative Party believes that motorcycling should be at the heart of transport policy…We are opposed to Labour’s plans to tax motorcyclists who enter town centres or park their bikes at work, particularly as they make next to no contribution to congestion…Motorcycles do not contribute much towards traffic congestion – they help reduce it. We believe that they should be exempt from congestion charging and the workplace parking tax…Motorcycles, obviously, do not take up as much parking space as other vehicles – usually a single car space can accommodate five to seven motorcycles. In order to encourage this efficient utilisation of land, we will support local authorities who provide more free on-street and off-street parking for motorcycles and mopeds…The next Conservative government will place motorcycling at the heart of our transport policy and will continue to work with motorcycle groups and the industry to develop sensible policies to improve motorcycling in Britain".
However, they have somewhat contradicted this policy by introducing the parking charge in Westminster, making it hard to see what their views on motorcycles are.
The Conservatives will make companies that carry out the road works accountable for any congestion they cause (I'd like to know how this will be implemented – surely all road works will cause some congestion?)
Lib Dems
Their comprehensive transport policy paper ‘Fast Track Britain: Building a Transport System for the 21st Century’ includes a motorcycle section which recognises that P2Ws (motorcycles, scooters and mopeds) reduce congestion. However, they feel that efficiency progress has fallen behind that of cars resulting in emissions remaining high. As a result they support a vehicle excise duty in accordance with CO2 emissions to encourage manufacturers to improve engine efficiency. They also support secure parking in car parks with safety measures such as CCTV, and more on street secure parking. The party will also introduce road pricing on motorways and trunk roads for P2Ws.

Yet another reason for me to dislike the Labour Party.
