Next update:
Harris filler cap now fitted to the red tank. Another successful Gixxer swap! Tank grommits fitted.
Sexy wet tyre fitted to the spare front wheel.

I should have a complete "Wanted" list done and ready to post later in the week

And that would be some size envelope for YC but I'll see what I can do

The deadline for croft is the 24th July and it'll need a dyno run before that. I have to commit with my entry fees in about a week so we need to get cracking

It'll be at Leeming Ritchie... unless I've killed it by then

I think Chris should do his bike a favour and snaffle 'buckets' old blue and black tank. Would be much improvement on that bashed thing he has on it!

So hes all official now....I see a sign up above the door

There a nice pile of sexy parts being accumulated on my garage floor and next weekend they should all find their way onto Lightning the Wonderbucket!

Penske shock - Check
675 Fairing and new screen - Check
Supercorsa rear tyre - Check
Akrapovic exhaust system - Check

Just emulators, battery, race pads, wets, 160 tyre warmers, numbers, race oil and brake fluid, Maxton .95 fork springs to go...

Pics next weekend.

SO, Photo update! (and about time I hear you type!)

Had another session with a very hungover mechanic somewhere slightly north of manchester and we achieved results!

He Akropovic exhaust (courtesy of Kat ) made it into one piece! Three bits still on back order to get it onto the bike but due in the next two weeks. This thing weighs as much as a spuggie fart!

Chief Mechanic number 1 hard at it...

and meanwhile Deputy Vice president of getting bits on the bike finally fettled the seat unit and got the tank on ...
There'll be a rash of conversions now because its virtually a drop on fit... ish!

Rearsets adjusted rearwards and upwards. Still too low and too far forward though.

And the sexy tank with its sexy filler cap...

Next to go on will be the rear wavey disc because everyone knows that they make the bike faster (when in fact they should really be making the bike slower! )

and on Chief mechanic Number 1's advise, the only shock to bee seen with! Unfortunately, Its not on because it needs a service... even though it doesn't need a service.

As soon as the dog bones arrive it'll be gracing the Bucket's rear end.

Closer inspection of the gearing revealed a standard 15 tooth sprocket and those in the know will know the slow the bike down far too much so that was junked in favour of a lighter and much much faster 14 tooth Renthal Ultralight. Bear in mind the Bucket is going to be racing with a Walrus on his back so this is important!

No sign of the fairing yet as it had an "accident" but it should be arriving later in the week.

So as it stands it still needs a WHOLE lot more work and if we hadn't stopped for so many cups of tea we ... wouldn't have got a lot more done to be honest

Next, fork conversion and lots more bits going on in about two weeks!.

Still to do:
Replace left clip on as it turns out to be slightly bent.
Replace clutch lever as pivot worn out. (Clutch cable replaced yesterday)
Make spacers for the seat unit.
Weld seat hook bar back on where it's split
Fit captive spacers to front forks
Fork work
Fit front Mudguard
Fit newly aquired Supercorsa to rear wheel
Fit wets to wheels
Make Brackets, fit fairing, screen and screen bolts
Make whole wiring loom fit battery and battery box
Fit rev counter
Fit Penske and dogbones
Lockwire everything
Fit exhaust
Fit air box
Fit new Clutch plates
Fit race numbers
Fit race pads front and rear and bleed brakes

Clean and polish from top to bottom

Then...

See if it starts!

Not much then!
