11 stone is still too heavy for stock suspension.

What's on the front?
Yeah if the pressure is far too low, you will get a squirming sensation which is not nice.

Its an avon on the front. Can not remember what model though. Ill pump it up to 42 on the rear then if that is what you are suggesting. Suspension is on standard setting on the rear which is 4.

Sounds to me like squared off rear tyre, but im no expert.
Tyre pressures do sound low though as well.

I am puzzled because I have not really got the bike leaning that far over so corners I should be able to take quickly like other bikers I can not as the back wheel starts to slip. Any advice?

are you goin on the throttle too early/ too much whilst in the corner possibly ?

as far as i know i do not put on any throttle until i know i can get round the corner without taking it off again. Have adjusted the rear tyre pressure as from what has been said on here it was about 8psi to low. Tyre has done about 2k miles from new as it was more or less new when i got it. No visalbe signs of squaring it off. It is has squared off slightly is it easy to get it round again?

I`m getting the same problem, blamed the road surface / damp leaves / stones at first but there must be something else.
Although my suspension is lowered so not sure if that makes a difference ?
My tyres are the stock BT021`s and the rear is nearly new, and at about 36psi I think.
I only weigh about 9 stone at most with gear on, so might try making the rear suspension softer ?

@sv650s 04, i would suggest you go and do some sort of advanced training to get their view on what you are doing wrong. it could be a number of things from 'shifting your weight wrong' to 'corner fixation'. if you cant work the problem out for yourself then my recommendation would be worthwhile. dont feel a noob by doing so everyone has to start somewhere and unless you have some 'seasoned' bike riding friends to go runs with and assess your problem then you may never get to the bottom of it.

@ Miss_U. there is your problem 'stock BT021`s' they feel like riding on marbles until you get some decent heat into them which is near impossible unless you ride like a loon.

I read Keith Codes's book and DVD.

Its kind of like information overload at first but its helps be understand some of the basic dynamics of cornering I hope to be able to apply soon!

it takes far more that covering basic setup, and a degree of lean; to get around a corner well, understanding the basic physics involved, how the bike works and the feel, takes time, experience and practise, try the first two without the last is a recipe for a painful experience in a totally different way.

sounds like you're free wheeling a bit at the wrong moment or snapping with the throttle instead of rolling on, but that's a guess.

Just because someone else can do it, isn't a good enough reason for you to try.

Cheers Mark.
