A place to live
Hi Folks,
I need help! I'm trying to find somewhere to live around the Thames Valley / Outer West side of London. I start work beginning of November and I had though I had accommodation sorted out however the landlord has withdrawn and left me with a mad dash to find somewhere to live. If anyone can provide advice or knows of anyone that has a place that would be suitable I would be very grateful, for reference I had found a house-share, the place had a garage for my bike and was en-suite... approx £600pcm. I need to be within reasonable commuting distance of Bedfont Lakes which is very near Heathrow T4. Cheers! |

Re: A place to live
Dude, who are you working for? I work for IBM and we have an office down there, I'll see if there is anything on our Intranet, although HR normally sorts out accommodation for new hires...

Re: A place to live
Cheers Mike
I'm with Cisco, there is a system for finding new places but not a single one has a garage. A bike in London without a garage is a big insurance no-no. If I didn't have a bike finding a place to live would be very easy. I really don't want to give up the bike... |

Re: A place to live
Is Oxford too far away? I am about to buy a place this weekend, will need a lodger, it'll be £500 pcm all bills included for a double room plus garage for motorbike. Google says its 51.1 miles away, 58 minutes down M40 and M25.

Thanks for the offer Warthog but Oxford is a little further than I would like to commute every day.

Re: A place to live
There is a spare room at my place at the moment. I'm located in staines, and yes we have a garage, with tools. But you need to ask permission first to use the tools.

Re: A place to live
I found that we have a small ads Intranet site, that has precisely 0 ads. I also found an advert bulletin board for the Bedfont and Staines locations with the same amount of adverts (none!). I had a chat to some of the guys I know in Staines and they all said that there is nothing advertised in the workplace. I don't know anyone at Bedfont to ask. The only useful thing was a link to an estate agency who handle our re-locations.
Sorry doesn't look like I can help. |
