Like badger says, I may just use what I've got and see how I get on. if once I get back I realise I need something more suitable then will get at a later date.

Cheers for all the input though guys.

My gripe about my old tyres was the weight, losing a few hundred grams from the tyres can make the bike feel as light as losing a few kgs from the frame

Might be able to get the Schwalbes onto you bike if you fancy trying them while we're up there?

Always one of the first/best upgrade on a decent frame is a good lightweight set of wheels and tyres. I won't deliberately buy good wheels to use with a carp frame, but it would help.

My advice to anyone buying a bike is buy the best frame you can afford, as you can always upgrade the parts later.

Always pays to have a spare set of wheels too

Badger - Halfwits are doing a pair maxxis high roller 2.35s for £42.98 online at the moment - would you recommend a pair of them for my new Boardman team FS? (looks like I missed out on the Canzo - out of stock and none coming in )

Any volunteers to help me set up my suspension on the weekend? I know less about mtb suspension than I do about motorbikes

Set sag at ~25-30% and any other settings at default, then ride it for a few hours and I'm sure we can give you advice to iron out the handling you don't like...

Cheers Captain.

Not sure what time I'll get away from work so I might not be up until late Friday night.

I'll bring the scooby with my Scott & Boardman on the back - the Pendle rack will take 4 bikes, so there will be room for a couple of others to transport around without having to bugger about taking wheels out etc

Matt, quick Q.....when do you think you will be heading back on the sunday?

Was wondering if there was any chance of blagging a lift back towards the West Midlands?

Drew - no worries with blagging a lift.

Quite like the look of the charity ride Mike has posted, so was thinking of doing that if everyone else is up for it and then heading back - if we did that, then I guess I would be dropping you off mid-afternoon???

Just in case anyone missed the post, here it is... http://forums.sv650.org/showpost.php...4&postcount=84

As stated there, I have no preference since this is a weekend for you folks that don't get here quite so often.
