Well, I assume I'm the last one home so just to safe home safe and a big thanks to everyone who made it what it was - me and Badger were talking yesterday about how it all sprang from a few comments on Facebook into this

I'm keen to do a weekend on the IOW at some point - there's no proper trails like this w/e but you have amazing views and some proper hills, not the little ones we just did...

Last year we spoke about doing an org mtb'ers border raid, glentress and innerleithen. Shall we actually do it this year? I can't put anyone up but I know the area and I could get a few people down from edinburgh if people want to get the train up. All flavours of riding between those 2 from beginners up to proper downhill shock and awe, and it's a good jumping off point if anyone fancies a longer trip too.

Just really thinking out loud but maybe May, driest month and all that... If there's enough numbers one of the other trailbuilders runs a brilliant bike-oriented guesthouse that sleeps 12 people (up to 15 at a push) and if we could take the whole house it's £370 for 2 nights so it works out cheaper than B&Bs would... Bike storage in the garage, BBQ out the back.

Wouldn't need to get loads of people o'course but that's a nice idea All of Peebles is set up for riding so there's any number of guesthouses etc, or the wigwams (like at the Glencoe Massacre only, well, newer and more boring) at the trailhead...

Are we talking about 2010 or 2011?

2011 would be great, then I can get this ready for any overnight trips

Sister lives just outside Edinburugh, so good for me

So... I'm keen to do something like this again in the near future, I reckon I could find beds for a few people

After the success of the "'Org Mountain Bikers Welsh Weekend 2010" is there any interest in an "'Org Mountain Bikers Epic Island XC Endurance Event" ???

I can't give you singletrack like Llandegla, the Island is mostly chalky bridleways and rolling hills, but if you like XC or not it's some pretty epic views and distance riding.

I'd say do just a weekend, meet and eat Friday evening, spend Saturday on the trails and then lazy start Sunday and get everyone off earlyish so they get a good night before work the next day. If people can get themselves and bikes to any ferry I can provide transport to and from for as many bikes as we can stack on the trailer in one go so no need to pay to bring cars over. Ride would start at my place so no need to drive anywhere while you're here.

I'm thinking early to mid December, the IOW is nowhere near as cold as the rest of the UK, thanks to the surrounding water, but it won't be tropical, I might even have to retire the shorts...
