I bet you did when you were young and stupid like Amy Winehouse though.I know I did all that and much more.I lived long enough to grow out of it and now live a reasonably clean and respectable life but I understand very well what gives with all drugs,both legal and not.

I have to say, like her or loathe her it is tragic for anyone to die so young. However it proves as a very good example to my children of why drink or drug addiction is bad for you and if nothing else for this reason she has done me a good turn, in at least giving me a real life example to give to my kids, particularly as they are both aware of her and her music.

Still tragic that anyone can ruin such a young life, especially with talent and money, two things very few of us will ever have.

Probably not a great deal. I smoked 5 fags a day until a few weeks ago and I drank very heavily until about 8 years ago. It now takes about 3 pints for me to get totally wrecked on the two occasions a year when I do have a drink - I'd hardly call that damaging to myself on an alcohol abuse scale.

I drank because I was bored and it helped me to sleep when I was a heavy drinker. It wasn't because I was upset or missing something in my life. Work took up alot of my time and as a wind down and to get me to sleep and I felt relaxed enough with a few vodkas after doing 18 hours a day. When I realised I was getting through 3 to 4 litres of vodka a week and what this was doing to me I stopped drinking, simple as that.

Not being funny mate but read your post about your old "idiot"mates who took this and that,gave up,became useless or died,and then read the above again.If you cant see the correlation-------?

Heavy drug use turns you into a moron regardless - heavy alcohol use doesn't necessarily do the same. You can go out and drink 2 or 3 pints a night and never actually be addicted and liable to kill yourself through drinking, try doing the same with smack or crack. You can stop drinking relatively easily because it is far less addcitve, you can't get off drugs anywhere near as easily and the damage done is usually far worse than drinking is by that stage.

Drink and drugs, no comparison so I don't see what your point is.

As much as it pains me to say it, If you dont think that alchol is a drug then he has a point.
Alcohol and Tabacco consumption ruins more lives than narcotic use ever has.

Irrespective of them been legally obtainable, it doesnt make addiction to those substances any less damaging and if you disagree then explain to me the logic behind those people who stop drinking and smoking through doctors advice?

FTR I drink, smoke and occasionally partake in illegal substances - but I recognise that if done in moderation they're all part of a good evening, if done to excess they'll ruin your life... and thats all of them fags and booze included.
