Induction roar rules!!! until you have to commute on the mway and the noise gets very fatiguing after a while. I ended up putting mine back on and when it came to need replacing i replaced the actual air pannel filter with a green cotton one for more flow. HTH

on the last bike i cut the snorkel
![]() the idea was to encourage more fresh air from around the tank gap rather than from the hotter air travelling up from the radiator/front cylinder. it might have been a placebo effect but to me the throttle felt a bit more responsive. the noise was not as bad as full out but not as subdued as a full snorkel. i had planned on doing it to the new bike but i haven't got round to it yet. |

Ooh this is interesting. Might pop mine out this weekend and see what it's like. I love the sound of my exhaust but this could make the bike sound even more sexy! :P

sv1000 snorkel works great, had one on mine for years. Had a full system and a remap and that made the fuelling way better, helps with mid corner throttle control!

Interesting! I've never thought of this. I've already got a higher flow rate air filter (BMC) on mine. Would this de-snorkelling still be beneficial? If you go the SV1000 route, do you need the whole top section of the air box?

Chris, as far as i am aware you don't need to. i don't believe that the sv1000 has a larger airbox than the 650. Just a larger snorkel so that it can breathe in more air

My k& n has no snorkle. Also spaced my tank up 5 mm.
Drains the rain water out the airbox with 2 grommits in the bottom . Does sound loud. But part of the symphony that's an SV . Not sure if it goes better just sounds like it is and makes me smile to and from work .

Took mine out sounded good imo, but the bike was definitely over fuelling.. so it went back in !!!
