When I was in the RAF it was always handy having some of these in the Bergen in case the gas ran out. OK, they take a while to boil a pan of water but they do.

I use a product called a Jetboil. Expensive but boils a litre in 2 minutes

Packs down into itself so is only the size of the cup. Won't cook sausages but heats up boil in the bag food pretty quickly lol

I can use them in the same sentence because I was on TSW when I was a regular and then RAF Regiment as an auxilliary.
And let's be honest, as a supplier I did have a slight advantage when it came to obtaining kit ...
