There's lots of comparisons on Youtube between sj4000 and gopro's, in my view there's not a lot in it, especially when you consider the price difference.
I'm dithering about buying an sj4000 when there's other cameras coming onto the market, i might even buy a 2nd hand gopro. i had a Garmin virbe camera, which the footage was as good as a gopro quality wise, but a faff to use. The trouble with youtube comparisons is that you can't upload the video in its original quality, well at least i couldn't. Be careful because there are a lot of fake sj4000's out there. and yes you can get chest mounts for them, most sj4000 kits come with multiple mounts, if not a gopro one will work

Yes I read about all the fake sj4000's and how to identify a genuine one. 2nd hand gopro is a good idea but hero 3s still go for loads.

If you're worried about the fakes, use Amazon. Make sure that either Amazon is the seller or it's fulfilled by Amazon. That way, returns are no problem.

I run it on 720 most of the time as that is well clear enough for reading numberplates and also don't normally use the screen, although I do carry a spare battery as a precaution.
