Newbie
Hi to you all!!!!
Great forum and really informative. New to the forum and new to owning a curvy sv650 which I bought for track days. One thing I noticed when on the track was that the brakes weren't brilliant so I'm carrying out a front end swap for a GSXR750 which should improve the brakes and give me better front suspension. Will post pics once all the parts are here. |

Re: Newbie
Hi guys.
Bike update - I am still awaiting on some of the front end swap parts ......... Ebay at its best but one thing that I have had to fix was the fuel valve after seeing petrol all all over the shed floor. Looks like its a common fault when the bike gets a little old. Good news is that it was all fixed for less than £15 and an hours work Has anyone done a. front end swap? I'm looking for hints and tips. Cheers |

Re: Newbie
Yeah, front end swaps are common - there's particular combos that work well in terms of retaining steering lock etc...but you don't need to worry about that I suppose.
All balls provide tapered bearing kits for the conversions. Just make sure to put zero preload on the bearings once torqued into place and your front end will be good to go. The turn in quickens up and it all gets a bit more twitchy, but then the forks are shorter so it's to be expected.

Re: Newbie
Ive gone for the srad 750 swap and parts are proving quite expensive if I'm honest but all the bits are in there so the swap must go on !!!
