Hi all, 99 sv650.
Neutral light has disappeared. Will not go into neutral. When I try to pull off when I am moving low speed if I fully release the clutch cable it will shut off. If I manage to get it moving it is running like a bag of ****. Totally not correct. Must be something to do with cable, clutch or something. Any ideas please?? New chain and sprocket, oil and filter change, plugs, carbs cleaned. Thanks |

A list of things to check----
Is the new chain correctly tensioned as per the manual(3cm slack at middle of lower run) Is the newly changed oil at the correct level(middle of site glass with bike upright and level) Is the clutch cable and actuator(worm gear) set up right as per the manual Does the side stand cut out work correctly Check and lube the gear lever where it pivots on the footrest. This gets sticky and is a common cause of selection problems.

Good shout about the clutch lever switch and/or sidestand switch. Rough running would not likely be related to that though. Need some history around it though.
