Default Mud!

Anybody travelling in my area should be aware of the state of the A490 between Bwlch y Cibau and the junction with the A495.

Jack the rat and his not-so-merry crew of sloppy miscreants from Ystym Colwyn farm own the fields along the side of the first half of the road. The fields are a filthy mess with the poor old sheep generally up to their armpits in mud. The mud is regularly dragged out onto the road by the tractors dropping sileage bales off in the entrance to the fields. The gates to the fields are right on a couple of the bends on the A490, and currently there is a thick wadge of mud and crap spread all over the NW bound side of the road. The dirty gits never make any effort to clean up after themselves, and I'm just waiting for some poor unsuspecting two wheeler to end up pranging it on this section.

The section in question is shown in the Google Maps link. It's clean in the picture but certainly isn't at the current time.

A mud slick like that very nearly had me off on my first ride of this year.

Even though I know it's generally mucky there, there is so much on the road it nearly caught me out too Craig.

Very dodgy. I think by law they need to sign post a warning for your sake and theirs. They could be held liable if there's an accident. I'm not an expert so I could be wrong.

I may report it to the police and the council when I get home.
