Dropped into my sister's house this afternoon. She asked me to bring my new drone over to demo it to my brother in law. There are lots of fields around her house so gave me the confidence to push the range and not worry about it dropping out of the sky on someone head. It worked remarkably well. For those interested, it's a DJI Neo.

I'd love a drone to chuck in a backpack and have with me when I'm out on the bike. Send it up to scout out any potential routes and explore up hills etc

The DJI Neo is small and light. Cheap too, for a drone. I'll post a couple of photos on the Rideout thread.

Yeh I've looked at those. Did you get the fly more kit?
I made the mistake of watching comparison reviews of this vs the next step up from DJI with a longer lasting battery, which costs a little more, oh and then this one which has even better footage but costs a little more. Oh and the VR kit! It can get very expensive quickly. ![]() The one you have is a good option cost wise I think. |

You can fly without any controller but you're limited to some sort of selfie. With a phone you get full control but the radio range is limited as it uses its own WiFi. With the RC-N3 controller range of much further up to 1.5km as well as other useful features. I could have gone for one of the Mavics but they are getting bigger and less convenient to carry around. For me it's just a bit of fun and if I lose it or break it then it's not too expensive to replace our repair.

Morning all. Sunny and a bit breezy here today. The rain yesterday has refilled my water butts and perked up the garden nicely.
The joy of a two hour teams meeting coming up shortly, then out for a walk with Mabel. What does the day hold for everyone else?
