Here we go again... sorry
I'm contemplating the GSXR shock upgrade. Most people seem to have gone for a Gixxer 1000 shock, from something like a K3. I've an idea, but am looking for clarification; but is this preferable over a Gixxer 600 shock for the SV? If so, why? Please explain. I guess it does come down to weight, of which I have plenty. ![]() ![]()

Okay... so basically the GSXR 600 spring is softer than the existing K3 spring
![]() And being on the heavy side... something a little harder is preferable - hence the GSXR 1000 popularity. I've got my eye on a GSXR1000K3 shock at the moment... ![]()

It ain't that much harder than what you've already got on the SV - although it is fully adjustable - I've left mine on stock as I'm not exactly heavy (11.5st/75kg). |

The stock settings on the SV shock are positively crap, and at the moment I have to have it one away from maximum preload. Any harder, and the shock has practically no travel - while maintaining the the same damping rate. So... there's no point me going to a softer spring, and even though as you say the Thou's one isn't much harder - I'm sure it'll make all the difference.
