Default Stuff Stolen, What a day!

I had a bad day yesterday. I live in Archway N.London and had to work down in Cobham filming the Chelsea under 18's. I was freezing from the ride down. I froze for the 90 minutes of play then got on my bike and rode to Shell Roehampton to refuel. Took my Tank Bag off and sat it on pump and refueled. As there was a big que, I pushed my bike between the pumps, lost my balance and dropped the bugger! First time EVER. R&G's saved the day 100%. Unfortunatley though I fell against the car next to me and dented his wing with my big ****. So after paying him off I wandered in to get a coffee feeling cold, tired, ****ed off and basically was totally off the ball. As I went to pay I realised that my tank bag was still outside. I raced out but it was gone. (Oxford Tank Bag, Playlife sunnies, Vans Shoes, A wooly Hat, All my keys exept bike ignition, but worst of all my shiny new Garmin Streetpilot i3!) (Sveeeedy Gonzales is modifing my bike mount for it as I type!!)
The store manager and I trawled through the CCTV tapes, spotted the guy taking it, (he was only the guy I pushed my bike out of the way for! *****!), then spotted him paying inside the shop then managed to cross reference everything and get his Credit Card Details off the system!!! The guy I dented was even asked by the thief if the bag was his!! So I have him as a whitness, CCTV and credit card details. I'm gunna get my man. The police are involved, so as a bit of an exercise I will let you all know how it goes. I don't know any of you on this forum but I have had so much helpfull info from it. I hope this helps someone else out there. It's cold and our reactions aren't as good as we think they are so be carefull!!! He was clearly an oportunist, and I would be tempted too if I saw a GPS unit sitting there... Maybe I had it coming? I'm gunna get him though!
Sorry about this long rant (I had to get it off my chest) but obviously if anyone is offered any of this stuff, PM ME!!
Mitch
PS: The very helpfull Manager, Nick, is a SV river too, what a nice guy!!

What a bu&&er of a day!

I hope the police catch up with the guy.

You have just got to hope that he wasnt using a stolen C/card and driving a stolen car! Seriously though just goes to show the effect that cold can have on concentration and coordination.

Glad to hear that the bike survived the drop OK.

But seriously... looks like you have a tad more than circumstantial evidence there.

Sorry to hear that it happened... but at least the police have all their work done for them in this case - the guy is banged to rights with all that evidence. Usually the police balk at chasing stuff up like that as it's too much work... fingers crossed they'll just have to approach the guy, tell him what they have and he'll put his hands up to it.

Got the re-done mount yet??
