Ground Anchors

Can anyone recommend a good un? I've eyed a few on here just wondering whether anyone's tried it or whether there are better ones out there?

At the end of the day dude I am not sure it matters, the weakpoint of any of the ground anchors I have seen would be the chain. i.e. a thief would be wiser to try and cut the chain rather than the ground anchor.

The anchor just stops someone lifting the bike, chain and all!!

But for what it is worth I have one (well two) that are the same design as the groundhog1 one from your link.

Suppose pretty much any bolt in anchor is the same then, well give or take what kind of steel it's made from.

I think unless you have a chain that is taken from a battleship, as Ann would say … "Mr chain, you are the weakest link, goodbye!!!'

Cement in anchors are more slightly more secure than bolt in ones but as stated before the chain is the weakest point.

Well unless you have a chocolate ground anchor!!!

Tough choice, dark chocolate is renown for being tougher though.

The anchor thing is only a temporary thing anyway until the garage at my house is sorted so it's more of a piece of mind than total security. Bike will be in the back garden well tucked away.

Might just get me one that bolts into the wall then like this un for £25.

I made mine from a huge D-Shackle and chainlink that I picked up from to local scrap yard.

I tightened the shackle on the link, then embedded the link in concrete, so that the shackle will flip up to use.

It took me about 1/2 hour to grind the eye off.
