I've never understood the point of big prezzies at xmas. Birthdays are special, a day just for you. Xmas is just too commercial now, people feel obliged to buy prezzies and yes the odd one is nice but when people start to expect them it gets out of hand. I like to give the odd surprise gift, means more.

I totally agree - it's all far too commercial these days and I hate the fact that everybody feel obliged to spend money they haven't got
