I guess that will teach you to sleep past 5pm!

I have a GS500. Great little bike.
And will pretty much keep up with the bigger bikes to about 85 or 90 mph.

Best of luck with the gpz YC.
Hope you get it sorted soon.
(I hate public transportation)

92 but any should do it, think they were all CDI. ER5 worth a punt too.

Be great if you found owt. Though it's banking on them having a flywheel puller. (M18x1.5 bolt)

Cheers

Chris - this is a common problem on the early GPZ500s. They are well known for spitting the magnets off the alternator rotor, which has been known to seize the motor and spit the pilot off. To be perfectly honest I'm surprised this one has lasted 18 years and hasn't destroyed the crank, cos that's what they usually do.

Hope you find a rotor, but I am sure the early models have one unique to that model only. I'm pretty sure a later one or ER-5 one won't fit.

what a ball ache.

Only thing that I can think they changed on ER5 just to be annoying must be how CDI picks up the signals. If stator is same as part numbers suggest.

found a flywheel and stator of unknown origin. stator is same as ER5 so that'll be reet. Flywheel has same lug out outside in same orientation to keyway, so should be close enough.
