So long as you don't say to the police afterward "lolz pwnt, plz dnt tell me mam".

You are even allowed in law to preemptively strike someone if you can later argue that you had no other option. (of course what actually happened has little to do with it)

Best bet if it ever comes to violence, if it is unavoidable, is to get it out of the way rapidly and then get yourself out of the way even more rapidly before the police arrive.
Yeah, but I was making the point that if the Police had turned up they would have been huckled. I am WELL aware of the law.

You are well aware of the law yet you said he should legally have stood by and called the police

And wait probably 40 minutes for them to finish their coffee while their mate gets kicked to death?

Anyway, where is law that says you must call the police immediately if there is danger to someone?

That's not true they do sacrifice their food and drinks to attend calls ASAP....have you seen the clip of the cops in a squad car eating curry then they get a call so the driver nails it and the passenger cop flys out the door with his curry in the middle of the road?

There we go! Lets start slagging the Police again.

He asked for a coppers opinion. I have given him it. I also said that if all he was doing was defending himself and his friend that he would have been released without charge once the evidence is reviewed.

But yeah, I only deal with these things 50 hours a week, with 2 years training and exams. What do I know?

No offence meant at all but I don't actually care what anyone does for a living on here. And I certainly won't let such minor details get in the way of a good arguement

Reason I am making the point is you said he should legally call the police. Implying that to do anything else would be breaking the law... which is clearly boswallox.

Dave I hadn't seen your post when I posted!

YC - if you had read my posts, I also said that although he would have been scooped, once CCTV had been reviewed and everyone had been interviewed etc, then he would have been released. Where in that does it imply that he has broken the law?
