Paging Becks

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but if all of this is true, then I imagine the man behind the facade was a bit of a sociopath (NOT psychopath). In simple terms, someone who is not good at maintaining relationships/friendships. Someone with many insecurities who can seem on the outside to be a perfectly normal, productive and sociable member of society, but who is in fact never truly comfortable. Sociopaths very ofetn make up stories, glamourising their life as they don't feel that their actual life is good enough to make people like them or want to know them. They also enjoy and crave the attention that they get for the character(s) they have built. It can get to a point where they start believing their own lies. It's a step further than being a compulsive liar. It's like a girl I knew in school who was recruited into MI5. She shouldn't ever mention it, but she never shut up about it. We all had our suspicions and when we really did start to ask her about it, she told us she had been diagnosed with bowel cancer. It's a form of deflection...there's no better way to stop people from questioning you than to fake an illness, making people unwilling to upset you and to even have sympathy for you. (We found out the truth when a few of us went to take her a hamper of goodies and her mum was none the wiser....she actually worked as a receptionist, as a few of us others did, so god knows why she didn't think that was good enough).

I feel sorry for the guy. For whatever reason, he doesn't think he's good enough to just be himself, but that doesn't make it ok as people have been hurt.

Anyway.....again, just my thoughts from a little experience, I have no medical background so don't quote me on the above!

I have a load of things i could say to disprove that DD was a serving SBS member. i

I am tearing my hair out with the frustration about people believing the BS he spouted.

I have had a few PM's from people today asking why i think i know what i do and i am more than happy to explain via pm.

but put it like this, it appeares he was KIA yet no SF member was KIA since aug 09, i checked today.

and before any one asks the SF are still repatriated as usuall, and their names still are released but with very limited info.

Why would you think otherwise, forums like this work on trust, you believe what people write as you have no reason to not believe what they say, until they prove otherwise.

It happens all the time on this forum. In smaller less noticeable ways. But it does go on...

Personally I would just like to know the truth. One way or the other. I dont care who he was, how he died, or anything like that. I would just like to know if he was who he said he was.

I have had my doubts for some time. Especially after talking to Neio a while ago. But that was my opinion and I chose to keep it to myself.

What I find leaves a bad taste in my mouth, is on the day that as a country we were remembering our fallen and injured servicemen and women, whoever this person was behind the keyboard :

1. Created an avatar
2. Logged in and changed two profiles

and then snuck out the door again. Surely when greving / mourning the last thing on your mind is to take time out to change avatars / profiles / signatures etc... Surely it would have been easier to just make a quick post or thread to say what had happened...

IMHO they picked the wrong day, I know troops die every single day of the year, but it did ring alarm bells with me straight away that it just happened to be on that day particularly that we "found out" what had happened...

Looks a bit like how a trojan virus works, payload up your bomb and then plant it and run away and watch from a distance...

Theres alot here that we dont know. Perhaps the fact that requests for information even on a basic level to ask when the funeral was so that proper dignified respect could be paid have gone unanswered speak volumes...

I dunno...

It's all a bit of a mess.

There is not really very more than can be said unless Becks reappears and confirms or denies this.

I do think it is a terrible thing to have faked and I tend to agree with GG, with what little psychology training I have that this sounds like a sort of sociopathic type behaviour.

I thought Becks was DD?

Perhaps you should simply post what you know, out in the open in public. I dont know if you are able to do this without landing yourself in hot water security wise though ?

I think the only way this is going to get sorted is for speculation to end and people post up what information they have...

that is what we believe to be the case. If however, Becks is real person and re-appears and posts up something to defend DD or herself, then perhaps she is a real person. Although, I doubt very much this is going to happen.

The person who I believe created DD and Becks is probably sitting watching all this as we type.
