Its not Maiden but its got me beat, even with google it means nowt but it has brought this thread to my attention.

I think some of my favourite lyrics are from Sail Away by Neil Young;

See the losers in the best bars
Meet the winners in the dives
Where the people are the real stars
All the rest of their lives.

Easier, but a classic imho

A good song about the modern america.

The American dream is a lie / That’s why I say I was born to die / I can’t be forced into your perfect world / I can’t coincide / Quit pointing fingers / Uncle Sam wants you pulling triggers at your fellow man for an unknown cause / But I don’t think I can / You’ve been fed lies / We’ve been robbed blind / Put the past behind, it’s time to unite / It’s we who’ve been victimized / Can’t beat their system / Some have tried now they rot in their prisons / You can’t stop the cops / Some have tried and got shot / Now our brothers are dead and hate is all we’ve got / Quit blaming races / It’s so easy to see that our enemy is faceless / And they ****ing hate us all / I hate them too, but what can I do / Victims of society and American dreams / Victims of a system breaking at its seams / Do you know what this means? / We can’t stop them if we try / So find solace in your brother / He too has been victimized / You want to see the evidence? Look to the street / You want to see a solution? Unity / Beat them at their own game / Redirect the hate.

Rod Stewart sang that, can't remember the name of the song though.

Really cool for those that like musical stories like Jeff Wayne's War of The Worlds etc.

I'm just a Maserati in a world of Kias
Genius would describe any of my ideas
If I was born in 1453 Leonardo Da Vinci would be jealous of me
But a world of Stevie Wonders would never see

It's the burden being wonderful like me.

William Elliot Whitmore - Love this guys songs, these are just a couple of many great songs, check him out!

There's Hope For You
My little sparrow there is hope for you
Your life has just begun
And I could not do what I wanted to
But I fear my time is almost done
But through your actions truth will carry on
Go forth with joy in your heart
And even though I will be gone
You've got to play your part
Listen to me now...

You will overcome, I promise you
And be whatever it is that you want to be
There is hope for you
Oh there's hope for you
But it's much too late for me

Wayward weeping voices that you will hear
Each with their own story to tell
And you have the choice to bend your ear
And treat your fellow humans well
So goodbye my little sparrow
It's time that I must go
To keep on the straight and narrow
There's something you must know
Listen to me now...

Hell Or Highwater
Smoke em if you got em,
drink your glasses to the bottom,
and toast me on another year.
Another year of hope,
another year of holdin on,
you drinkers by day, and ba5tards by dawn.

And I hope I will see you soon,
and Ill be home come hell or high water,
and I know i will see you soon.

Gather round friends and neighbors,
who make your living by labor,
and share with me this little time.
This little time that we have left,
to have a drink and catch a breath,
well it might just be what saves our lives.

And I hope I will see you soon,
and Ill be home come hell or high water,
and I know i will see you soon.

Smoke em if you got em,
drink your glasses to the bottom,
and listen to the howling dogs,
and oh how it pleases me,
to be in such company
and im so glad our paths have crossed.

And I hope I will see you soon,
and Ill be home come hell or high water,
and I know i will see you soon.

and Ill be home come hell or high water,
and I know i will see you soon.

Reviving this thread once again as I've been reminded of a cool lyric and I've added some more for context.

Call your name every day, when I feel so helpless
I'm fallin' down, but I'll rise above this, rise above this
Call your name every day, when I seem so helpless
I'm fallin' down, but I'll rise above this, rise above this doubt

I'll mend myself before it gets me
(I'll mend myself before it gets me)

Earlier in the song it says "I'll end myself before it gets me" I like the redemption element.
