No, I dismantled the first and have no idea how to put it back together!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Only a fiver for 252406193490 again Pantar lens but it's cheap and seems to be working. Bu tKenzie you have a VF101, that has a Zeiss Tessar f2.8 lens doesn't it?

Re: Vintage film cameras
Picked up the lens this morning - and the tenner.
It feels tiny even compared to the Minolta 50mm..and having the aperture at the front rather than the rear is going to confuse me even more, I just know. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Johnny, do you reckon that ebay item is worth a punt. Friend in China wants me to take her out a couple of film cameras. They don't have the variety or the prices we have. She wants an SLR and a smaller one. SLR is easy but I'm looking for a rangefinder/trip/classic type thing. Would this be OK? I had a look at the manual online and it seems fairly straightforward.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Might be worth you guys popping up any auctions you are bidding on. Wouldn't want to run anyone up! Won the Certo for £10.57 plus postage.
Yoko, Trips should be easy to find. The Canon Canonet is another good one but be careful what you go for as some use banned mercury batteries and replacement in alkaline/Zinc air can be pricey. The Vito B is a good one, simple to use and really small. Zone focus though. Glad it arrived ok Yoko.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I was watching the Certo, you got a bargain there!
I've got a Contessamat, it's the higher model with Tessar lens but is nice to use. The only thing that gives me pause is that a lot of older cameras are a bit gummed up; the one I have more or less worked but was sticky so slower speeds were miles off, and on this one it works in auto by shutter priority, so if the aperture blades are also a bit oily, they open too slowly so you can end up underexposing. So that sort of problem aside, yes it's a nice camera and comes with a case too which is about a tenner on its own. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Hope so, know nothing about it at all! I added another couple of pounds to my max bid, lucky I did as it went over the £10 I had put down.
