Just done the clutch mechanism. Never seen such muck, looked like it'd been lubed with pi$$ and coal dust.

![]() just for you heres a picture of suzy before.... and you've got all the ones in between as they come in, and you will definately get the after for sure this was taken just before I joined the forum last spring, she got a lot worse after this foto, just from being stood. Suzy will never be as perfect as some folks have their bikes, I'll just be satisfied with having her, how a 7 year old bike should be.....without rust(well not as much)The other SV is sooooo clean, but until Im Indoors decides he wants to go halfs with a multistorey car park with integral garage...things are quite a struggle keeping the pair tip top in that shed/garage behind her. Any ideas to keep it damp proof and warm appreciated, but, it is at the bottom of the garden and central heating and electrics aren't an option!!!

![]() as for keeping the moisture away, i don't know for sure but can you buy big bags of that salt stuff that absorbs moisture in the air??, if you can lay that on the floor and cut the upside of the bag out with a stanley and push it into the corner. i'd say ask a science buff because i wouldn't know if that salt stuff would some how become airborne and attack your bikes, but i doubt it if that makes sense, sorry i r ficky ![]() |

oh sorry you tipped her upsidedown. that was a good way to get the corrosion off the bottom of the engine, and get the studs off, i can't believe you two did that.....but it worked so I'll forgive you

I had some spare rear peg hangers off Dave so I got nosey today and nitromorsed them, and decided to get the Dremel out on one of them
look what I did ![]() ![]() ![]() I also recieved the touch up stuff for this rather nice scratch ![]() although I'm not very impressed with the initial consistency, as its just like a pot of nail varnish. I had a go, but it came out too thick and appeared to be too fluorescent( if it goes more like the colour with added layers I don't know) in the pot it matches. i ended up scraping it back to the white base to try again tomorrow....Im Indoors suggested thinning it slightly....i'm not sure
