All the best,

I have finally managed to get the yoke off, courtesy of 20 stone brother standing on the ratchet. No wonder I couldn't undo it with my feeble arm.

It will all be posted first thing tomorrow for you so hopefully you'll receive them on Saturday.

Hi there,

thank you ever so much - and I am not looking forward to when it is my turn to undo the yoke...

I think I might as well start WD40-ing it now...

all the best,
Nadine

A cracking bar (breaker bar) is a good idea.

Hi guys, haven't been online for ages for the following reason:

My bike was stolen again. No joke.

I am now suspecting that somebody must have been watching me, as the residential area I live in is far from any main street, only accessible via 2 private entrances and does not have anything else in it apart from private houeses. And to get to my house you have to run around 3 corners. There is absolutely now way anbody can see the bike unless they want to visit one of the 4 houses around. And the bike was completely covered.

Anyway, it was found again in a cobbled road not far from mine, tank ripped off completely (I put it up to remove the air box, as the connector for the ignition cables is underneath that). They tried to rip out the battery (no idea why) and left the engine uncovered in the ****ing rain all night. Great.

The insurance is going to have a look at it on Monday but have already said that it is a write-off, according to the list of things I have given them which are broken.

Give me 3 months and I am back on the road. There is nothing stopping me. By the way, has anybody got a spare BLUE tank (navy blue)???

And Adrian, do you happen to still have the other side of the ignition connector that you send me? (For some reason they cut that off, too)

All the best,
a very sad Nadine

Unbe****inglievable

I've read this thread from start to finish and was looking forward to the 'back on the road', Happy Ending photos.

That's such bad luck.

You really wanna move to this neck of the woods: God's own biking roads (A7 Carlisle to Edinburgh), very little crime and friendly bikers everywhere.

What a rubbish story. Get well soon!

'Oh my' Nadine, you are one unlucky girl!!

I take it the bike was still in a being-fixed state then?? ... its been there for a week or so now, so it's not like someone saw you ride it in and followed round ....

To my mind this can only be 'kids' ... they are the sort that roam streets looking for trouble/things to nick!!! and the damage seems a bit random ...

I might have got that wrong (it might have been a adult lowlife), but whoever it was, they need to be beaten to death with a blunt stick.

So are the insurance going to pay up and let you keep the bike??? .... if so you can probably patch this one up for not-a-lot and then buy yourself a stiff drink and a sniper rifle with the leftover!!

That sucks. I would wager its the same people that stole it last time have been back for another go at it.

That was my first thought, but if you remember, it was first taken outside a 'friends' house ... not Nadine's ...

Are you going to get a new bike then? Or perpetually patch up this one?

P.S. Don't rule out the one with paws as being behind all this
