Dunno, might be.

You can try my rubbish old bike for size, push it around the field or pootle around the carpark on it if you want. It's only a bike, I've let loads of people sit on it.

I might take you up on that offer, just to see how it compares to the SV.

Apparantly the design of the engine was based on a radical new idea. The cylinders used to be in line, front to back on other hondas but on the first CB bikes the cylinders ran in line left to right.

The bike was named after the new engine design/configuration which was mounted CROSS BEAM.

The faired bikes that followed were CROSS BEAM RACERS.

So there you have it. Right from the horses mouth in Japan.
