On Light to medium use, i can get 2 days on my Desire. Heavy use, day and a bit. The knick is to use the inbulit tools to manage what you have switched on. Mine is sitting on my desk with nothing turned on at all. No 3g, no wifi etc. Turn them off and it really isnt bad.

I like the idea of the new Nokia N9 running Android that fo sho! Im up for renewal in januray next year, so lets hope it out as its already a contender.

I think the nokia android thing was before nokia got into bed with MS, I think its extremely unlikely that nokia will use android now, it will be wp7 mango most likely. Shame...

time to resurrect this thread - again.

I got an HTC Sensation on my upgrade and so far I love it. However one small issue...

when using the text message function it wont display the pictures of the contacts.

It will display them from some people (ie those who had contact IDs that I transferred onto the phone) but for all other contacts it have a grey box. They dont even display the Facebook linked images. There's just the grey box...

Initially it worked, and all the contact images I set worked, but I'm guessing there's been a stealth update and now they've stopped displaying.

Anyone got any suggestions?

(A quick google tells me to download terminal emulators and type in various commands, but I dont want to break my shiny HTC!!)

Check that your Facebook app is set to sync correctly and update your phonebook with its own details. If it has failed repeatedly to update it will remove it's information from the phonebook. It won't be a stealth update as there is no such thing with Android, it requires your permission to install any update.

Hi Jen, it works fine on my Sensation and as Raving says there are no stealth updates... Mine is up to date....

Go into settings for your phone, then Acconts and Sync, then tap on the app you want to sync (e.g. Facebook) then check that the 'sync contacts' box is ticked. That should then sync your phone with the social app...

When it finds matches you will see a little chain icon in the information area at the top of the screen (left side of where battery and signal icons are), open the information area and tap on the little chain icon and a list of potential linked people are shown, you need to confirm linking them for the phone to do this.

Yeah I love my sensation. It does everything a laptop would and more. I have to admit the facebook app takes a little getting used to. I have 2 facebook apps when I go into accounts. Facebook, and and facbook for HTC sense????

Pretty sure the contacts sync thing is to do with whether the contact is stored on phone or sim. One of these types cannot be linked to facebook.

Hmmm. Well, I've done a sync with Fb and it just seems to have confused it even more...

Tried the Nth attempt at turning it off and on again (not reset!) and lo and behold many pictures to be seen!

I prefer to keep the "people" list to phone only, as with phone + fb + whatever else I get so many duplicates of contacts it's unreal.

But yeah, photo issue sorted.

And yes, I love my HTC too... <3
