Ride to work about 20% of the year - if the weathers good enough to justify the long way home.
Used to ride every day that there wasn't snow and ice down, but when I moved my Job from Leeds up into the Dales, suddenly the 20 mins each way I was saving on the bike went away - the car is almost as quick unless you get stuck behind something. That and the fact I get a fuel allowance from work mean the option with a roof and heated seats gets used a lot ![]() |

Well after the 3rd day of going to work I am really enjoying it to be honest. The only part of me that is cold is my face a little when I have to lift the visor up to stop the fogging up.
I have also been early or on time as well since being on the bike, what traffic ![]() I think my bike is over fueling though, as I put a tenner in on Sunday and the light is back on. Wondered if it was the exhaust I changed or what |

Almost had a run in with a bus today that pulled out without even looking. I think I escaped more through luck than skill, riding home after a 12hr night shift isn't fun :/

I use mine regularly for my commute...30 miles each way, 95% Motorway and Dual carriageway. I use the car if its particularly cold and Im finishing at 2am. I racked up 14k on it last year. The only time it let me down, was a result of not using it for 2 months, flattening the battery but other than that its been perfect.
Ive fitted R&G heated grips and a Scottoiler....Id highly recommend both for regular commuting of that distance. |

I'm thinking about it but as I've only just started riding i'm going to wait for the weather to improve a bit. Being in Rochdale, that might not happen anytime soon, we have the worst climate in the UK i think.

I've found that it's great for days where I know I'll be in the office all day, but those are very few and I often have to chop and change plans to several different sites on some days it doesn't really work.

![]() I know your pain, I ride daily. My boss is well aware my argument is pay me enough so I can afford a car and I'll use one, otherwise Im on 2 wheels... Unfortunatly he's smarter than I am and usually seems to wait for the worst weather before assigning me a monitoring job which requires regular visits ![]() Nothing more likely to make you look resentfully at the warm car drivers than turning up at work watery eyed and shivering only to be told you've got to go watch someone poor concrete 20miles away ![]() |
