Default Cats

It's all just conditioning. Cats take time to be conditioned but do learn eventually.

My cat used to go nuts at breakfast and dinner time but after a while learned and understood that she was fed at certain times.

She now also knows the difference between a weekday and weekend and that I lie in.

Shutting doors may work depending on how loud they are and if they scratch at the doors.

Trap it and send her an invoice for the £50 removal fee if she wants the little bugger back.

I don't know about the legality of this but it seems to work fine for robbing git impound yards and vehicles. I bet she'd soon be reeducated.

What do vets/kennels charge day rate for keeping hold of animals?

Shut the bedroom door - ha ha ha - the cat sitter lodger tried that when he went for a shower and the cats just tore and chewed the carpet until he opened the door. There is no privacy in our house.

Sure they learn tricks, Iggle jumps up on his hind legs and 'high fives' you in return for Dreamies, but he also stands by the cat flap and waits for me to open it for him like he's a member of royalty.

Also they get breakfast and dinner at set times, but if I'm working from home they have an expectation that I should also serve them lunch as I'm having some.

I love dogs too but they are daft. You see people dress their dogs in silly outfits and the look on the dogs face is either 'ooooo this is fun' or a slightly resigned 'OK, if it makes you happy I'll wear it'. Try that with a cat and the expression is 'OK, I'll give you a choice, which one of your limbs do you want torn off first?'

I will say, the funniest videos to watch on you tube are the cat videos....by a mile. They can be hilarious.

Don't be so quick to think dogs are daft though...spend some time with our lot. They stalk each other, have more intelligence between them than most offices contain.

We also have a ninja dog in our house. Stig is like a cat dog. He can move about in complete silence, sneak up on you no matter where you are (except the kitchen because he's not stupid) and even plays like a cat
