Amazing what the SV toolkit can do, some tools even doubled up for the gear selector.

Not something you like to see coming round a corner to see you a field.

You are hard as nails riding home with only a paracetamol to help!! Can't believe the ambulance crew missed a broken bone!

Hope you mend quick Kwak.

been trying to think how this all happened? as the days go by i can remember more, seems to me like when i was braking hard as i went into the corner the front tyre let go and i slid across the road, across the hedge and through the fence into the field? first i thought there was gravel on the road but cuz tells me all the road had on it was the scrapes off my bike pointing towards the hedge. i didn't think i was on the brakes that hard well no harder than usual? the only thing different was i put 40psi in my front tyre the day before the ride perhaps giving me a lack of grip on the front.

40psi when cold will have given you a fair bit more when it was hot, so lets say 42+psi on a front is a fair bit.

mistake, we learn from them hopefully.

sort it out, get back on the road when your sorted, at least its not worse.

really sorry to hear about your off, and hope you heal soon

i guess the worst of this is how are you going to clean all the mud off the bike with only one hand?

What pressures were you supposed to run? The 650 commonly has 33 in the front, if the 1000 is the same and you were running 40 then that's awfully high and is likely to have contributed to you binning it.

Unlucky all the same. I've ridden my bike with a broken hand before and that was bad enough.

Real sorry to hear this Daz. GWS & make the most of the time off work to heal properly.
I reckon it would be best to claim, but sounds like it would be a great buy back opportunity (even if you sell on as is).
