my nephew had the 1.9 and he always said the 1.9 was better than the 1.6? the alloys look better to on the 1.9.

The main thing about 205 GTIs, it seems, is they're old and not that well made... A good one's ace, but they're pricey, that's one of the options I looked at a while back since I like 'em (with an MI16 motor in it ). You can get a decent 206 GTI6 for about the same as a well kept 205 GTI, it seems, so unless you're happy with a sheddy one it's getting a bit tricky. Classic hot hatches etc are starting to get up to silly money, if they're well kept, and if not then some are more restorable than others. It seems to me that the VWs are easier to find in good shape, they were made better than most and often looked after better too.

Where's Daimo to sell you a Nova with a red top, or an Astra GTI?
