I found with mine if I didnt thrash it, it used to oil the plug up and then when I did get on the throttle again it used to do a passable impression of a bonfire out of the exhaust.

Yeah , if you bimble about on them around town and then headed out to somewhere faster you would leave a billowing cloud of 2 Stroke to confuse your racing buddies woe-betide any car driver that was behind a flock of 2 Strokes all getting on the gas at the same time as we so often did

That's oil collecting in the exhaust, which doesn't get hot enough to burn it off on short runs. Get the exhaust hot and u gotta get on the gas to stay far enough ahead of the fumes not to get addicted...

And what, pray tell, gives you the idea that that bike will be going anywhere near a main dealer!

Castrol TTS, nom nom nom.

Does anyone else choose 2 stroke oil on the criteria of a) being a good quality fully synthetic and b) smelling lovely?

Anyway I'm gonna put a CR500 engine in that frame when you're done with the thing, so don't worry about killing it...

I used to pick by criteria a, then I changed and started to pick by criteria b..

I used to run TTS because thats what my brother told me to run it on and then I discovered that it smelt gorgeous so I kept using it

Seems to oil up the planet pretty quickly, but it hasn't been on the road for a caning yet so it's to be expected.
The RD400 just smokes like a demon.

Cagiva has a fresh pair of avon vipers on it, so it should stick well according to berlins review of them.
