There is a woman who lives over the road, whose dogs usually roam around the street, once or twice they have launched an attack on mine whilst walking on a lead. Honey knows when they are around and goes nuts, but the woman now walks them on a lead in the field at the back of my house, only thing is my dogs escape into there, and today they ran out of the kitchen down the garden into the field and launched themselves at the nasty dogs that usually get them!!!
I was very embarrassed, but at the same time thought 'now she knows what I feel like'
So time to build a bigger fence...with electricity

Yup I did (if really naughty otherwise it was lines ). A swift but forceful tap on the dog's nose is what's required, obviously not a full blown wallop to the head

I wouldn't go that far. A dangerous dog is usually deemed so due to biting and fighting and high levels of disobedience, whereas Shell's Sam sounds a bit temperamental and overboistrous (as spaniels are!)

I don't think that will help, because it may make him worse or afraid.
My Jan can explain it better , give us a call and talk to Jan.

Think I'd stick to the shout/reward thing for a bit & see how it goes - sounds like you've made some good progress. Practising with a few other dogs you know on the lead prob be good too...

Mmm dog with 2 sides is my Sam. First 2 dogs he lunched for and got a firm telling off, kept on lead on field and I could see he so wanted to play,, then his best friend Max the border collie and Alfie the springer pup came on and all other dogs left. Oh what a play he had, bounding around and rolling around. Bless he is covered in mud but tired.

Nasty one min fine the next. Male ain't he LOL
