Why does that warrant being assaulted with a deadly weapon by a totally different group of officers?

If doesn't warrant being assaulted, But

What was he doing blocking the van an hour before, (thought he was in work)
Why walk slow with a line of police, with batons and dogs right behind you (a sensible person wouldn't)

Dunno about the van. Don't seem to remember hearing a mention of a caution or arrest there though...

Hoping they'll pass you by so you're out of the cordon and you can go home, obviously they wouldn't want to cordon in someone not involved in the protest and not being overtly violent would they... oh wait... yes they would...

Or even getting in the way to make things difficult for the coppers to ruin the protesters day, after all some would say they were putting down a lawful protest with force, in a very non-democratic manner...
Whatever, if he was deliberately in the way and being an rse, then they should have nicked him, cautioned him... or even told him to f##k off home!

A copper can nick me for choosing to have a scrap with someone who has offended me. They can even do it if the other guy wants a scrap as well.
Why should they be able to do the same without the same consequences and worse?

Like I say, if I had assaulted someone with a deadly weapon for walking too slowly, I'd be going down for a long time.

First off I do believe the copper should be dealt with for using unnecessary force. And if Ian Tomlinson had not been there then he would have not been injured.

Secondly if this guy was trying to head home, why walk slowly, surely a normal person would have moved to the side, let the line pass and then headed home.

Yes, probably a normal person would have either done that or asked one of the rozzers if they could pass through the lines to go home. But, I don't see why that should make a difference.

surely if he was blocking a van before then the police would not have said their first encounter was when he had collapsed.

Also, pretty sure heart attacks are not instant, if he was unwell, he would be walking slowly.

So what if he was infact trying to wind up the police? Why should they be above the law?

It is possible to get a Acute Myocardial Infarction, from a number of ways mainly booze and drugs, as well as from stress, having underlaying heart problems, and trauma (as being hit in the chest,) If he had been having a AMI then he would have been leaning on something in the the tripod position, as walking upright causing more pain and puts more pressure onto the chest, and his hands would have been clutching at his chest, not in his pocket.

I did say the copper needs to be dealt with for this, and not saying they are above the law, as they need to uphold the law as well as obeying it.

I wonder if walking slowly was a side-effect of being in the 1st stages of a heart-attack.............
