Well after last year having to blag my way past the ticket inspector as I could not find my ticket and being forced to buy another bus ticket as the taliban driver refused to believe I had already bought a return and refusing to stop at the point I had requested simply because I was asleep and Richie didn't know where we were. (You think I am bad, the wife/daughter left early and we still beat them home. They got on the wrong train, change at Warrington back to Manchester to get the right train). Daughter has to work a late shift. So we now got a taxi home for this year.

Damn. no late night afters across the road. (She thinks)

Right then, the hip flasks.

Rule 1) don't offer the barman a swig when he catches you.

Probably Bowmore in mine. or a Laphroaig

There is good honest food at the markets, wash down with cold German beer or warm spiced cider.

Beer, more beer, different beer and foreign food then more beer. and the odd nip from somebody else's flask

Starting at the Salisbury has been traditional. Damn good choice of beers. good music, tolerant of drunken lancastrians (ish) and about as close to Oxford road station as you can possibly get.
