Brake cleaner is apparently not for cleaning pistons

When you extend pistons, just take pads out (20 seconds on that!) and pump them out before you take the calipers off the forks.

Now that crank case cover REALLY makes it look like a racer! It'll be MUCH faster now!

And a few scrapes with a barsteward file would make the rider look wellard!

Having done a fair few miles/years with my ZX6R with both 4 and 6 pot tociko's I genuinely recommend stripping the calipers entirely and rebuilding them. I can do a set in an hour now and no short-cut has ever really worked for me.

P.S. if any of the pistons are past their best, PM me, I can have a look in the garage to see if I have a spare or 2.

The pads are out, I jammed some loose ones in to stop the bottom four moving and get the top two to extend. There's a bit of crud on them but no real sign of corrosion/wear.

Yeah but if you've got the disc held in the middle then they all automatically extend to their max point for best cleaning. Dead easy.

And then how do you get the caliper off the disc without scratching the disk to f***?

It doesn't scratch the discs.
