I think my stock SV brakes are absolute pants, but I'm used to the wonderful 4 pot Nissins my Daytona 955i had, and the AP Racing 6 pots that were fitted to my Gixer Thou. My 10 year old CBR600 has far better brakes than my SV.
When I had my ZX9R I fitted lovely Tokico 4 pots from a GSXR600 to it, to replace the useless Tokico 6 pots. It's likely I'll be fitting the same type of GSXR 4 pots to my SV |

Earlier this year I lashed out on HEL braided lines, will they still be ok with these calipers or do I need longer lines or different angled fittings etc?

They'll work fine Lozzo, I was running mine with hel hoses for the sv, also ran a set with goodridge hoses

I'm assuming that as the SV uses the exact same m/cylinder as a GSXR then it'll be ok as well. I had thought about fitting a radial Brembo from an R1, but that would definitely mean changing the brake lines. |

The SV650 master-cylinder and brake lines will be fine Lozzo, I ran the SRAD front end for a few years with the standard master-cylinder and had no problems. The SV master-cylinder and 4-Pot SRAD callipers go well together, I only replaced because I was offered an ex-race Brembo.

Cheers, thought they'd be ok as you'd end up with exactly the same set up as a Gixer has, and no-one has issues with those.
Did you have to change the lines to fit the Brembo m/cylinder? |
