Thinking of taking the lad out on saturday up to the lakes again as i really enjoyed those roads.

Thing is i was not really taking any notice of the route, i was just following the person in front . not good i know, but it was my first ride out.

Just want to know if anyone has the actual route we took ie with the road numbers or if anyone can give me a good route to take.

I am looking to be out all day with stops for food and photo shoots.

Your help in this matter will make me and my lad very happy.

OK Newts here's a round robin route for you should take about 6 hours if going fairly well it includes

lakes :- windemere, wastewater, ennerdale water, lowes water, crummock water, derwent water, ullswater,

and the following passes :- wrynose, hardknott, honister, kirkstone

there are several stop points i class as great views
the road up wrynose looking back just before the top, and again looking forward just after the top (and the same with hardknott) also the fort at hardknott, the view of wastewater and also the pub at wasdale head view of skiddaw.

then onto the hidden lake ennerdale water 5 min walk from car park.
next is beside crummock water just before the narrow bit round the rock look back. then of course the way up and down honister, then surprise view over derwent water. then lakeside carpark on ullswater then nearly at the top of kirkstone pull over at side of road and look back . then top of kirkstone over windemere and down the struggle. then again on the way down to windemere still on kirkstone pull over for a view down a great valley keep looking.

ok linky dinks should be able to stich the close up ones together for a decent map.
