I think Hovis is right. If these people can't accept the very tangible help that Mrs Gibbons was giving, then they don't deserve it in the first place.

What's so odd about all this is that moderate muslims have hardly uttered a word. If they had been in the news saying it was outreagous and unjust then they might have done something to restore the public image of Islam.

Dare I say it, there is someone who regularly pops up on here at the first sniff of trouble and argues that black is white - but I see no ships...

I dunno, that demo looked pretty arranged to me. Depends which news source you trust, some are saying that it's not been widely reported in Sudan, others that every imam's shouting it from the rooftops (literally!). Good news that she is to be released though, but can't help thinking that Sudan only did this for a bit of political kudos (call me a sceptic!)

Agreed, she should never have been prosecuted in the first place.
