143mph on the dyno means nothing, that's just free revving against a mass, no resistance from the air.
Your dads busa clocks probably still have the same error as the SV ones.
Quick shifter won't affect the top speed in the slightest!

I'm really liking this thread, makes for entertaining reading. I can't help but wonder if some of the posts aren't meant solely to wind people up though.

I'm pretty sure my SV would break 150 mph with no problem... If dropped from an airplane on a hot day! I did have the speedo saying 140-ish once, it felt incredibly fast, but didn't feel 140.

I personally hired Bruntingthorpe and their Vmaxx system....the sv will do 190mph with a Fuel can on.......

Just to fan the flames, the Bike review hosted on the main site assert a tested top speed of 135.1 for a pointy S at Bruntingthorpe.
