Right I'll conclude this thread with the following.

50 mile test ride Saturday, all's well.

allowing for my infirmity and being knocked off my other bike in between (Time taken to complete), here's the numbers

Time taken to complete.....................43 days 22/02/09 - 03/04/09

Total hours worked. .........................Approx 79 hours

Parts needed...................................Secondhand crank & rod/ exhaust valve x 2 / new panels/seat cover/ decals

Work done.......................................Engine complete strip and rebuild,replacement crank, replace exhaust valves, valve clearance check, polish complete exhaust, exhaust chop, carb strip & rebuild, brake service (both front & back), greased all bolts, fitted both front & side new panels and modded them, fitted new rear mudguard and modded to house ecu, Inforad fitted, polished bash plate, few other bits as well as I saw them.

Cost...............................................Good secondhand crank £70/ two new exhaust valves £62/ sealent,oil, filter,bolts,locktite etc.. £41/ body panels (side panels & mudguard) £38/ decals £12.50

Total for repair...............................................£17 3
Total spend..................................£223.50

Including pruchase price a grand total of £1803.50 for this



Oh and finally, many thanks to Sarj and Jambo for engine out and in resecptively, as that I couldn't do myself.

That is looking very good Mark.

It has inspired me, if I ever get real engine problems, to throw it in the bin. 79 hours! I want one.

great job Mark, have really enjoyed the build with all the technical language and most importantly the pictures ( only part i understood) . Does this mean that you may have some spare time? to offer advice and help to somone with zero technical abilities like moi??? oh yeah and possibly loan of a good drill
