In all this the one thing that really stands out as an insult to Islam is the sight of idiots wanting murder in the name of their faith, the level of reckless stupidity needed to allow your faith to be exploited in an attempt to enhance someone else's political power must not be underestimated.

I read at the weekend that the UK has sent aid in excess of £200 million to Sudan, (over what period was not clear, but the tone suggested quite recently), I'm in no mood to be conciliatory, no bombs, no demos at the embassy, just end it.

that much? screw em......... no more aid to these countrys, im feed up with them "calling on the west for help" all the time.

Whilst I would quite happily watch all the fundamentalists march off a cliff, stopping our aid is a difficult argument to justify. Even knowing most of our aid goes straight in to the hand of the rich in to Swiss bank accounts, the benefit of the rest of the money is worth far more than us in the western world filling our pockets with gadgets. It's sad the place is so corrupt but I don't believe stopping the healthcare and education of the poorest can help anyone. We may be taxed to hell in this country and up to our eyeballs in debt, but we're greedy and materialistic. Human advancement in the world stopped a while ago.

Due to the frequent rants in this neighbourhood relating to immigrants, ethnics etc. I would hope the fact that two figures who are Muslims themselves and who were instrumental in pushing for sense to prevail in this situation, is not being forgotten.

3rd world countries don't only exist in Africa you know. There are far more deserving causes.

Of course, and it'll always be very difficult to calculate who is most deserving. It's a real shame the goverment arsed this one up so badly.
