I'm one of the few in this thread that clearly is awaiting the jury's verdict.

However, I still feel that life in a maximum security prison, spending 23 hours a day in solitary confinment, with no chance whatsoever of parole would be a very light sentence in this case. I sincerely doubt that the guilty party/parties in this case will even get a sentence of that magnitude. If they do, then the courts have also punished society as a whole by making society pay for their food etc.

Where the hell does all this bile come from? You speak as if she'd a convicted serial child killer.

No doubt a traumatic experience for the girl, but she is otherwise well and has the opertunity to life a normal life. In fact, this may turn out to be a blessing in desguise as she will hopefully have the chance to live with someone who'll look after her.

Given your comments about the care system and my limited knowledge of it, that's a slim chance.

If this woman is convicted, then a heavy prison sentence is likely. Not because she conspired to kidnap and imprison her own child, but because she will be convicted of 'perverting the course of justice' which judges really like to punish.

I find it interesting that no-one is baying for the blood of the chap who kept her locked in the drawer of a bed in his flat. And no-one wants the testicles of the Mother's b/f who also knew of the kidnap.
