Oops! Should read more carefully!

I'm getting out on my bike a bit too Now its warming up. Modern shifters are just so accurate compared to old gears. I'm dead chuffed with my Ribble!

Wish I had a cab on road rocket mind.

I thought if you cancelled direct debits, your credit rating could be impacted? I know in LPH's case it shouldn't as they shouldn't be debiting but if they still send bills out, they may well try taking money out and then she'd find her credit rating impacts her finances?

Is a credit rating really that important? I know I'm probably the wrong generation but I've only every borrowed money twice in my life, once to buy my first car, and to buy my house. Both debts long paid off so quite frankly I couldn't give two hoots what some computer says about me. In fact someone did once try and explain to me that because I don't have any recent debt history I've probably got a rubbish "credit rating" anyhow!

Impacts your mortgage possibilities I believe. Like LPH below, I paid off all my bills, had no credit card etc but then got one to use occasionally just to help my credit rating. Don't spend what I don't have!

If you read Red's post he's paid off his mortgage, so unlikely to worry about his credit rating. He's of the older generation, like me, so getting a mortgage is the least of our worries.

free bus pass and pension is what's important.

Talktalk ringing up again to ask if the faults fixed.
What you think you'd spoke to the girl who rang yesterday and said it's a network issue and they can't fix it.
Stop wasting my time you useless bunch of idiots.
